Our Story
Trinity College, Cambridge, feels a little like Hogwarts. With huge ornate halls, stone archways and leaded windows, you quickly become immersed, excited, and inspired. An ancient place steeped in history and tradition, yet filled with a youthful energy focused on the future, and it was within these hallowed walls where Kristien and Wolfgang first met.
But not as students, as many stories of this kind begin, but a meeting of two accomplished industry veterans from different countries with vastly different experiences and backgrounds. In that meeting, they found in each other a kindred spirit; one of honesty, creativity, and a sense of adventure.
On that sunny day in May 2017, the idea of immerzion was born.
immerzion began as a simple idea; use immersive tech to bring customers closer to products. “Invent the future”, they say, and it was from here that their passions, unique ideas, talents and experiences converged.
A convergence of videogames, of global marketing, of branding, advertising, science-fiction, a love of cars, of technology, of imagination. It wasn’t about ‘changing the world’, it was about a desire to create something original, something valuable, something bold and honest and above all, something rewarding.
From that moment, Kristien and Wolf began the avalanche of ideas which was to form their first project: immerzion.one.
But for any idea to work, you need a team, and this is where the third member of the ensemble comes in: Marco.
Based in the Netherlands, Marco has built an enviable reputation in immersive tech, A.I. and digital experiences. When pitched immerzion.one, he immediately jumped on board, became its first investor and the convergence was complete.
So began a journey of discovery, reaching out to premium Automotive contacts with immerzion.one, pitching, demoing, sharing their vision and enthusiasm - and winning their first pilot project development with Maserati (see our Projects section).
But before things got started, they stopped. The COVID pandemic entered Europe, took hold in Northern Italy and everything changed for everyone. But it didn’t hold them back; they had an idea, a vision in which they passionately believed, and not even a full-blown world changing event could deter them.
During the lockdown years, they continually reached out to contacts and companies. They pitched and they consulted, leading to their first project: the World of Wood (WOW) app for the UN Climate Change conference COP26 (see our Projects section).
Together with UK & European timber associations, UK Government and international forest stakeholders, immerzion.one came to life, using immersive experiences to explain how forests and sustainable timber production is already helping to avert climate change.
The WOW App told this simple and impactful story to busy politicians, policy-makers and civil servants at COP26 and was instrumental in helping to secure the Glasgow Leaders’ Declaration on Forests and Land Use accord.
It was immerzion Developments first success and solidified their belief that immersive experiences was the future for impactful storytelling and interaction.
immerzion Developments Ltd became an ideas factory X tech consultancy.
The combination of Kristien, Wolf and Marco created a unique approach in storytelling for brands, products, services, and live events.
The creation of new customer experiences, of new entertainment and new worlds is what immerzion Developments is all about. So, if you feel like taking a journey of discovery yourself, please read on…
Meet the Team
-
Kristien Wendt
CO-FOUNDER
Hello there! I sometimes think of myself as a ‘pioneer’, doing things no-one else has done - going out into the unknown - winning, failing, learning. I’ve also been told I’m an optimist, that I’m tenacious and I don’t quit - so it all kind of fits.
My own philosophy: If you think it, you can make it (in every sense).

Wolfgang Ungerer
CO-FOUNDER
Nothing is as powerful as the passion to truly believe in what you do. My connection to what I do is critical. It brings authenticity and ambition together. I love to see the results. Touch them, feel them, experience them.
My own philosophy: Life is one big experience. Shape it and make life richer, more meaningful and more unforgettable.

Marco Van Herpen
NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
As a kid I loved playing with Lego. Over the past 5 years so many new IT possibilities have become available that it’s like somebody placed many, many innovative ‘building blocks’ on a table, just waiting for the world to play with them. If you can imagine it, you can create it.
My own philosophy: Problems are there to be solved.

Richard Beastall
CFO
I like to play up to the boring accountant stereotype, but that’s a cloak I put on when I want to hear more about the cool ideas the entrepreneurs are working on.
The real me comes out when we’re working together to make those dreams a reality. I was bored by the big corporate life so decided to have fun with my career, and be really selective about who I work with.
My own philosophy: Life is keep doing more of what you enjoy, and less of what you don’t!

Lucy Kamall
COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
The vision and passion at immerzion is infectious and energetic, which I get to channel not only into our storytelling, but also into my role of insightful facilitator and project wrangler (management).
While I am an expert in extremely effective communications strategies, I am also a joyful and enthusiastic geek!
My own philosophy: You get to choose your own brilliant and magical adventure!

INVESTMENT ANALYST
I have always liked working with smart people. I'm by nature a technology optimist at heart and immerzion's infectious optimism, can-do attitude and enthusiasm really appeals to me.
My own philosophy: Don't wait for someone else to do it - chose to get it done and do it yourself. That's when the breakthroughs occur and opportunities are created.
